Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Employee Relations Spec III is responsible for supporting employee-relations and engagement initiatives throughout the Medical Center. The specialist will conduct effective, employee-related interventions and programs by working collaboratively to coordinate and counsel, educate staff and management on various employee relations issues including, but not limited to, performance and conduct, work environment concerns, coaching and investigations, and training and communication. 1. Assists in the administration of the Medical Center's Employee Relations program. 2. Researches and analyzes data and common business practices across industries to ensure HUMC's Human Resources policies and practices are consistent and competitive with those within the industry. 3. Communicates with all levels of the Medical Center and with external entities. 4. Demonstrates strong business and report writing abilities. 5. Multi-tasking skills and ability to manage shifting priorities and workload requirements. 6. Assists higher level Employee Relations Specialists and Director with internal investigations employee engagement and communication strategies. 7. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions. 8. Assists with design and administer HR policies and procedures that pertain to employee relations. 9. Familiar with US Federal and State employment law and related employee relations implications. 10. Assists in the development, recommendation and implementation of new strategies in response to changing internal and external competitive conditions as well as the legal and regulatory environment. 11. Responsible for the communication of these initiatives and changes throughout all levels of the organization. 12. Conducts training programs regarding Human Resources policies and procedures. 13. Relies on experience, some degree of latitude and creativity, and exercising semi-autonomous judgment to plan and accomplish the Medical Center's strategic goals. 14. Strong working knowledge of US Federal and State Employment laws. 15. Designs and administers HR policies and procedures that pertain to employee relations. 16. Relies extensively on experience, wide latitude and creativity and exercises autonomous judgment to plan and accomplish medical centers strategic goals. 17. May lead and direct the work of others. QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Bachelor's Degree. 2. Highly organized and analytical. 3. Ability to communicate both written and orally to all levels of staff, including Senior Leadership. 4. Experience researching information using various sources. 5. Good presentation skills. 6. Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 7. Superior problem solving abilities, solid judgment, and influencing skills. 8. Minimum of 10 years Human Resources experience for Employee Relations Specialist III. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. Extensive experience in drafting Employee Relations reports and HR related documentation. 2. Comprehensive knowledge of employment and labor laws. 3. Experience working with PeopleSoft. 4. Extensive experience conducting Workforce Analysis. 5. Advance Microsoft Office Application. Licenses and Certifications Required:
