RN Manager of Employee Health/Infection Control- FT ** $10,000 Bonus!

The Manager of Infection Control & Employee Health manages and coordinates the infection control program in the hospital. The designated person will be given the authority to implement and enforce the Surveillance, Prevention and Control Program policies, coordinate all infection prevention and control within the hospital and facilitate ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of prevention and/or control activities and interventions. Provides assessment and reassessment of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Develops and coordinates employee health education and wellness programs for the hospital. Participates in PI activities. The Employee Health Nurse manages the hospital's Employee Health program including pre-employment and ongoing programs for all employees and contractors and occasional physicians.
Ensures the delivery of optimal patient care through the coordination of clinical activities, leadership, and department organization. Demonstrates a service excellence approach and communicates this expectation to staff. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by achieving financial targets of designated department(s). Leads and coaches the development and growth of a safety culture in the organization. The Manager must be able to prioritize work and duties well and must work well under stressful situations. Must demonstrate good communication and customer service skills with a variety of patients, physicians, and other health care providers both internal and external to the organization. Must make accurate decisions and judgments quickly. Needs to exhibit team oriented communication and partner well with co-workers. Provides input for formulating policies and procedures for the Department. Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and developmental needs by attending meetings, workshops and conventions to enrich personal knowledge, growth and skill. Serves on and attends hospital committees as appointed.
Qualifications :
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree required; RN; 2-4 years supervisory experience preferred. Required Licenses/Certification:
Current professional RN license issued and/or recognized by Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas preferred. Clinical Specialty (IC) Certification required within 1 year of employment Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must use databases for tracking and reporting data. Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills required. Current regulatory knowledge (CMS and Joint Commission) and current Evidence Based Practice knowledge. Strong experience with a service excellence culture.
